Catching up!

Myles looking so sick!

Holly in the Exersauser that Santa gave her!

This pic is from Erik's birthday - can you tell Myles LOVES cake?

Merry (belated) Christmas everyone! We very much enjoyed all the cards and letters from everyone! It is great to catch up on what is going on in your life!

Well, I've neglected to keep this blog up to date and missed posting the last few weeks. Sorry! Here is a brief overview:

December 19th - Erik's birthday! We spent a quiet night at home with the kids. Ate dinner and had some ice cream cake. Myles gave Daddy a movie (that Erik found in my grocery bag the night before...) and I gave Erik the coat he bought himself a few weeks ago! How romantic of me! :) We then got together on Sunday 12/23 with my family to have lunch and gifts for his b-day. It was fun!

Christmas Eve - The festivities began the night before on Christmas eve at my parents. They hosted a large group of us crazy folks (friends and family), and there was a smorgasbord of food and gifts. I especially enjoyed playing the dice game - even though I only ended up with 3 gifts. But I'm not complaining because when we got home I took Erik's gifts as well! I'd say that is a perk of being married.

Christmas Day - We got up on Christmas morning at 6:00 am and shockingly discovered that Santa had come in the night! Myles was excited - yet was pretty good about taking turns opening gifts and playing with them a bit before going for the next one. So after Erik put together Holly's exersauser (about 100 pieces) we went back over to my parents house. We exchanged gifts, and began the gorging of Holiday food. MMmmmm... Love that! We were there all day, and arrived home about 6:30 pm. Immediately after we arrived home, Myles threw up. We thought it was just from the excitement and junk food, but it turns out that he really was sick. He spent the next 3 days at home with Erik. Poor kid. But he now feels much better and is back to his normal self.

Enjoy the pictures, and I'll try to blog again after the New year!
Love, Andrea

Ho Ho Ho - Santa Time!

Happy Holidays everyone! Today has been a great day so far and it is only lunch time! This morning we went to Church, and Myles had Sunday School. He had a ton of fun - and enjoyed eating birthday cake for Jesus (at 10:00 am!). We then headed over to the Mall to see Santa. Erik waited in line forever with Holly, while I ran around the mall with Myles. He ate some popcorn (at 11:00 am!) while waiting, but tripped and spilled half of the bag. He was so bummed! But a quick visit to the pet store helped him forget about that! So finally Erik was about 3 people away from Santa when Myles announces that he has to use the bathroom - typical. So we race to the bathroom and back in record time so that we can sit for 10 seconds on Santa's lap. We decided to have both kids on his lap at the same time for two reasons: 1) They are so cute together and 2) it would be faster that if they took turns! So while the elf took their picture, I snapped away with my camera as well. We then ate lunch and came home for nap time. Ah.... I love nap time.

Hope you enjoy the pictures! Stay warm!

Love, Andrea and Erik

December activities

Myles and Holly looking so cute!
Myles told Santa that he wanted Spiderman things and Transformers!

Aunt Erica and her favorite little Niece!

Patrick and Erik preparing to go get a Christmas Tree!

Our slightly crooked Christmas tree - notice some extra orniments at the bottom?

Happy Holidays! This weekend was filled with lots of family fun! We went on Saturday with Aunt Erica and Uncle Patrick to buy our family Christmas tree! The event started off with a quick stop at Caribou Coffee for some much needed energy. We then made the snowy treck up to the Rum River Tree farm (a tradition for the Johnson family!) to select our tree. Since it was sooo cold in the morning, we decided not to make the kids wander around the tree farm for the perfect one to cut down. Instead we selected a pre-cut one, and it is beautiful! So we tossed it in Erik's truck and brought it home. Then on Sunday we decorated it after church. Myles did a wonderful job hanging the decorations on the tree, and only broke 2 of them! :) He tends to hang about 5 on one branch, so I plan on doing some rearranging tonight after he is in bed (a little trick my mom used to do when we were kids!). Erik got the ladder and was able to stick the angel on the top - Myles was excited about that. Holly slept through the whole thing. Maybe next year she will participate! Then this afternoon Myles came with me to the store and got Holly a Christmas present that we will wrap together one of these upcoming evenings. So right now we are relaxing on the couch watching a Mickey Mouse Holiday movie. I love the christmas season! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Meet the Robinsons was the Feature for our Weekly Movie Night. We all really enjoyed it. It gives a good message about family and acceptance. Check it out if you get the chance.

Happy Thansgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Today we hung out at home in the morning, and then went over to my parents house in Blaine for the big feast! Mom, Dad, Patrick, Erica, Erik, Andrea, Myles, and Holly all hung out together and ate tons of turkey and pie! It was tasty! And we get to do it all again tomorrow! I'll take pictures and post again tomorrow.

Enjoy all that you have to be Thankful for!

Andrea

Saturday cuteness!

What a great weekend this is so far! Today we played with our kids all day, and they were very well behaved! Myles was having fun with Holly, and asked to have his picture taken with her. I ran to get the camera to take advantage of this opportunity! We got some really cute pictures.
This evening Myles is sleeping over at Grandma's and Grandpa's house - Yippee! We decided to go out to dinner (Mexican of course!) and enjoy some lovely conversation. Holly seemed to enjoy herself as she cooed and laughed the whole time!
I'm sure it will be an early evening for us as we are still trying to catch up on our sleep. Last night was a late night - we were out at my Company party until Midnight. Yikes! But hopefully we can sleep in a bit in the morning.

Holly Janel's Baptism day!

Isn't Holly so cute in her Baptism Outfit?!

Holly is looking so cute and comfy!

Here are Holly's 3 Godparents! Lookin Good!

This is a group photo of those attending the Baptism - Plus Jen Bey who is taking the Picture!

What an exciting weekend! Marie was in town for Holly's Baptism, and we had fun playing with her for 3 days! Myles really took to her! He was always asking her to play with him. He would drag out all his toys and make a total mess. But he had fun doing that!

Today was Holly's Baptism, and she was looking CUTE! A handful of Family and Friends were able to gather to celebrate and witness her big day - Erica, Patrick, and Marie are the Godparents. Myles did pretty well during the church service, but totally lost it for the baptism. It was a little embarrassing. Grandma had to take him out of church to calm him down. He eventually came back in right before Holly was baptized. He was very fascinated with the baptismal fount, and kept sticking his fingers in the water. Erik and I were stressed out about it! Holly was fast asleep - totally oblivious to the fact that this was her day. I got to hold her while she was baptized, and she woke up for that moment, but didn't cry. Myles wiped the water off her head. It was so wonderful to hold her during this celebration! After the ceremony, we all went back to our house for some food and fun. It was a crazy day, but one that I will remember forever. I'm a bit sad that it is over, but I know Holly's Christian journey is just beginning!

Enjoy the pictures of her wonderful day!

Halloween 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today was Halloween, and we had tons of fun! The kids started the day by going to Daycare in their costumes. Myles was Spiderman, and Holly was a Bumble Bee. Both looked so cute! Then in the evening Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie Erica came over to help celebrate. Silvia and little Isabella came over to join us in the fun. Cory was able to come over to see his baby's first Halloween. (So yes, we can say that the Cops came to our house - Cory was in uniform and had his squad in our driveway!) We took cute pics of the kids in costume, and then hit the road! Erik and I took Myles out trick-or-treating, while Holly stayed home with the family. It was so much fun! We ended up hooking up with a bunch of neighborhood kids and parents, and went to a ton of houses. Myles had a total blast! He then came home and ate about 5 pieces of candy. It was hard to get him to bed. Anyway, we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did!

I haven't posted in a while, but that doesn't mean that we haven't been busy! I've been back to work now for 3 weeks, and starting to get used to it again. It has been a hard transition, but it makes me treasure my time at home even more. Over the last 2 weeks we have had family from Nebraska come visit. Erik's Aunts and Uncles (RoseLee & Bob, and Margaret & LeRoy) were in town and came over for dinner and hung out. Myles had a great time coloring with RoseLee! He still talks about it! :)

Then last weekend my sister spoke at CLC Church so we went to see her Sunday morning. Myles was so excited to see his Auntie that he ended running up to the front of the church and sitting with his Auntie and the 2 Pastors. I nearly had a heart attack! He then threw a tantrum when Erik had to carry him away from the front pew because Auntie when up to the podium to speak. Sigh. Life with a 3 year old.

In the evening the Bietz family came over to carve pumpkins (well, everyone but Patrick!) We had a home made dinner of Lasagna & Salad (okay - they both were from Costco...) and yummy cookies that Erica made. We then carved 4 pumpkins. It was so much fun! But I'm noticing that they are already looking sad and wilted. I guess we'll have to carve some more!
Okay - I'm off for now, but I'll take more pictures next week on Halloween! Take care until then!

Hanging out at home

Mommy Loves her little girl!

Up close and personal with this cutie!

Holly must love the color pink (or mommy does...)

Kickin back on a typical Wednesday!

Today Holly and I are just hanging out at home, and trying to get some chores done. I decided that she was so cute that I should take some pictures! She is all decked out in pink, and Mommy is loving it! :) I know there will come a day when I am tired of seeing her in pink, but that day has not yet come!

What a day! Today the Johnson family went with Grandma to the State Fair. We were there for a long time! We ate our way from one side to the other, and hung out on Machinery Hill for about an hour or two. Myles LOVES the farm equipment and the trucks. Here are some pictures of Myles at the fair.
