Holly Dazzel Parade on Saturday Night!

Holly waiting for the Parade to start - she sure doesn't look very excited!

Myles sat on Erik's shoulders for about 45 minutes - what a good Dad!

Mommy & Holly watching the parade!

Today was a pretty good day! We were on day 3 together, and decided we needed to get out of the house. In the morning we went to play in the kid area at the Northtown Mall. Myles then got to see Santa and asked him for a long list of toys. It was cute! Then home for naps (Myles is pretty much giving these up and didn't take one today). In the evening we packed up and went into Minneapolis for the Holly Dazzel Parade. It was fun - very packed with people, but fun. We ran into Terry Anderson and her kids on our way there so we ended up hanging out to watch together. The weather was fairly mild - 40 degrees - so with jackets and hats we were fine outside. The parade was probably 30-40 minutes long, and full of fun festival lights. We will
have to do this again next year! Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Monday night at Burger King

Holly and Myles crawling through the play place at BK

Holly deciding which way to go!

One wanting to go up, one wanting to go down!

Daddy helping Holly have fun!

Now that it is dark and COLD in the evenings, we are having to get creative with entertainment ideas for the kids. So on Monday evening after dinner at home, we headed over to BK for some yummy strawberry shakes and playtime in their kiddie play place. It was a ton of fun! Holly wanted to do all the "big kid" things, so Erik and I took turns climbing and crawling through all the tubes and passageways with Holly. She was really cute. Myles was into speed, and he would frequently race through the whole thing, zip down the slide and then ask "Mommy! Did you see how fast I was that time?" It was cute! I'm sure we'll go there several times this winter!

Myles singing in church

The kids have been practicing their Sunday School songs and got a chance to sing in church today! It was really cute - they walked in holding hands and got all lined up to sing. Myles gave us a thumbs up sign - very cute! They were quiet so you may have to turn up the sound to hear them. We are very proud parents!

President-Elect Barack Obama in Chicago

Yes We Can!

President Obama said:

"America, this is our moment. This is our time. Our time to turn the page on the policies of the past. Our time to bring new energy and new ideas to the challenges we face. Our time to offer a new direction for this country that we love."

Something amazing has happened....

Erik opening up the Champagne to celebrate!

Mmm... look at that champagne!

I close my eyes, sip the bubbly, and imagine the wonders that will come in the next 4 years!

Happy doesn't even begin to describe the feeling in the Johnson household tonight. Something amazing has happened. The United States of America has elected the first African American man into the highest office in the nation.... President Obama. He will be our 44th elected President. This brings a renewed sense of hope for change and prosperity in the country. As I watch McCain's speech, I am proud of the respect he shows for his opponent, and sincerely hope that it helps to get people behind the newest President. And I was utterly amazed at the profound words spoken by President-Elect Obama during his speech. This is a man that can unify our nation and restore our country's good name. I am proud that Erik and I were able to cast our vote today, and proud to be an American. This is a great country with a bright future! Congratulations Mr. President!

Party with the neighbors!

Here we are all dressed in purple with lots of bling on! I would think that the Vikings would be proud of us!

Here are the hosts and the birthday kids - say... in those High School cheerleader costumes, you can hardly even tell that you just turned 30 years old!! :)

Last night was a Halloween party at the Thielke's house - kids and adults had a blast! While we didn't win the halloween costume contest, I still think we looked pretty good! Better than last year, that's for sure! I guess we now have 12 months to plan for next year! First prize here we come! HA!

Gopher's Homecomming game

Ahhh - what a cute couple!

We had really good seats at the game!

Erik with a yummy beer and brat at the game

Well, the MN Gopher's lost their homecomming game, but we had fun anyway!
Better luck next year.

Trick or Treat - Halloween 2008

Holly in costume before we head out to get candy!

Myles with his good friend Mason - don't they look cute in costume?!

Erik and Holly having fun!
The kids in costume - Clone Trooper, Optimus Prime Transformer and a Cow.

Myles, Mason, and Nicole getting some candy!

Nicole in costume -she looked cute!

One of the houses had this sign and I had to make Myles pause from his trick or treating to get a picture! Does he look thrilled or what!?!

Mommy and Holly out on Halloween - we had a blast!

Holly in the wagon with her sucker - Yum!

Holly and Preston eating suckers - they sure had it good!

Halloween was a huge success this year! We got the kids in costume after dinner (that was difficult... try to tell a kid to eat their food before we go get candy, and all they hear is "go get candy!"). Myles was a Clone Trooper from Star Wars, and Holly was a little Lady Bug. The kids looked cute! We went around the block with our friends and their kids - Preston was a Cow and Mason was a Transformer. The kids had a blast running from house to house! We joined up with our daycare lady's daughter - Nicole is the Firewoman. Holly and Preston got tired after about 5 houses and simply rode in the wagon most of the time. This is where Holly discovered that she could eat some candy. That sucker made her sticky from head to toe, but she loved it! When we got home, all the boys got to eat some of their candy before they were cut off. It was a really fun evening for both kids and adults!
