Catching up!

Myles looking so sick!

Holly in the Exersauser that Santa gave her!

This pic is from Erik's birthday - can you tell Myles LOVES cake?

Merry (belated) Christmas everyone! We very much enjoyed all the cards and letters from everyone! It is great to catch up on what is going on in your life!

Well, I've neglected to keep this blog up to date and missed posting the last few weeks. Sorry! Here is a brief overview:

December 19th - Erik's birthday! We spent a quiet night at home with the kids. Ate dinner and had some ice cream cake. Myles gave Daddy a movie (that Erik found in my grocery bag the night before...) and I gave Erik the coat he bought himself a few weeks ago! How romantic of me! :) We then got together on Sunday 12/23 with my family to have lunch and gifts for his b-day. It was fun!

Christmas Eve - The festivities began the night before on Christmas eve at my parents. They hosted a large group of us crazy folks (friends and family), and there was a smorgasbord of food and gifts. I especially enjoyed playing the dice game - even though I only ended up with 3 gifts. But I'm not complaining because when we got home I took Erik's gifts as well! I'd say that is a perk of being married.

Christmas Day - We got up on Christmas morning at 6:00 am and shockingly discovered that Santa had come in the night! Myles was excited - yet was pretty good about taking turns opening gifts and playing with them a bit before going for the next one. So after Erik put together Holly's exersauser (about 100 pieces) we went back over to my parents house. We exchanged gifts, and began the gorging of Holiday food. MMmmmm... Love that! We were there all day, and arrived home about 6:30 pm. Immediately after we arrived home, Myles threw up. We thought it was just from the excitement and junk food, but it turns out that he really was sick. He spent the next 3 days at home with Erik. Poor kid. But he now feels much better and is back to his normal self.

Enjoy the pictures, and I'll try to blog again after the New year!
Love, Andrea

Ho Ho Ho - Santa Time!

Happy Holidays everyone! Today has been a great day so far and it is only lunch time! This morning we went to Church, and Myles had Sunday School. He had a ton of fun - and enjoyed eating birthday cake for Jesus (at 10:00 am!). We then headed over to the Mall to see Santa. Erik waited in line forever with Holly, while I ran around the mall with Myles. He ate some popcorn (at 11:00 am!) while waiting, but tripped and spilled half of the bag. He was so bummed! But a quick visit to the pet store helped him forget about that! So finally Erik was about 3 people away from Santa when Myles announces that he has to use the bathroom - typical. So we race to the bathroom and back in record time so that we can sit for 10 seconds on Santa's lap. We decided to have both kids on his lap at the same time for two reasons: 1) They are so cute together and 2) it would be faster that if they took turns! So while the elf took their picture, I snapped away with my camera as well. We then ate lunch and came home for nap time. Ah.... I love nap time.

Hope you enjoy the pictures! Stay warm!

Love, Andrea and Erik

December activities

Myles and Holly looking so cute!
Myles told Santa that he wanted Spiderman things and Transformers!

Aunt Erica and her favorite little Niece!

Patrick and Erik preparing to go get a Christmas Tree!

Our slightly crooked Christmas tree - notice some extra orniments at the bottom?

Happy Holidays! This weekend was filled with lots of family fun! We went on Saturday with Aunt Erica and Uncle Patrick to buy our family Christmas tree! The event started off with a quick stop at Caribou Coffee for some much needed energy. We then made the snowy treck up to the Rum River Tree farm (a tradition for the Johnson family!) to select our tree. Since it was sooo cold in the morning, we decided not to make the kids wander around the tree farm for the perfect one to cut down. Instead we selected a pre-cut one, and it is beautiful! So we tossed it in Erik's truck and brought it home. Then on Sunday we decorated it after church. Myles did a wonderful job hanging the decorations on the tree, and only broke 2 of them! :) He tends to hang about 5 on one branch, so I plan on doing some rearranging tonight after he is in bed (a little trick my mom used to do when we were kids!). Erik got the ladder and was able to stick the angel on the top - Myles was excited about that. Holly slept through the whole thing. Maybe next year she will participate! Then this afternoon Myles came with me to the store and got Holly a Christmas present that we will wrap together one of these upcoming evenings. So right now we are relaxing on the couch watching a Mickey Mouse Holiday movie. I love the christmas season! Hope you enjoy the pictures!
